Emergency call (eCall)
The many discussions within the European Commission regarding automatic emergency call (eCall) systems have placed this topic front and center in the public eye.
The basic idea is to use emergency call systems to alert first responders earlier and accurately dispatch them to where they are needed – especially if the victim of an accident is no longer able to contact them or if the accident has occurred on a remote road.
Emergency call systems and fleet management
peiker has been working on various technologies in the areas of personnel and vehicle position location, vehicle interfaces, sensors, and communications technology since 1995 – including features such as emergency call functions and roadside assistance. We also aim to utilize a vehicle’s existing communications module to deliver additional services such as remote vehicle diagnosis, fleet management services, or special offers from car insurers. With this as a basis, peiker also equips vehicles with WLAN capability.
